About

After taking New York City by storm, scintillating soprano Svetlana is conquering the world with the sound of her New York Swing Collective, a determined group of young jazz talents on a mission to uplift, energize… and spread the joy of what WPIX/11 News called “exuberant foot–stomping music that combines New York swing with pop singer/songwriter sensibilities.” A performance by Svetlana and the New York Swing Collective is a colorful carnival of sound, seamlessly moving from sophisticated and sultry retrospection to a joyfully rowdy dance party. “An outstanding band... Exceptional vocalist and songwriter!” (The Wall Street Journal). Svetlana and her band have headlined sold out shows in renown jazz clubs, performing arts centers in the US (Blue note / Blue note festival, RegattaBar, Jazz Standard, DC Jazz Festival) and some internationally (Tel Aviv Blues Festival, Italian Rovigo Jazz Festival, Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, Tel Aviv Blues Festival and more) - holding crowds breathless from intimate house concerts to 1,500 people strong outdoor series in Brooklyn, NY, delivering "great sounding, great looking, highly entertaining unique tight show - with big sound and deeply personal sincere connection with the audience!" (Festival Presenter, USA). Svetlana's album Night at the Speakeasy (produced by Grammy Award winning Guy Eckstine) has been released to critical acclaim on Origin Records, charted on Jazz Radio charts in the US and has been played around the world and was critic's choice for Top 10 2015 albums for several jazz critics lists (Classicalite, Vents Magaizne). Svetlana's upcoming record, Night at the Movies (produced by Grammy Award winning Matt Pierson, and arranged by Gill Goldstein - ft Wycliffe Gordon, Sullivan Fortner and more) is due for release Spring, 2019.
