Jazz & Swing Music for ArtPark Community Event in Buffalo

Svetlana & the Delancey Three were thrilled to be invited by a large community organization in upstate NY (Lewiston / Niagara Falls / Buffalo area) to play an uplifting open air concert for the community.

Earl W. Brydges Artpark State Park is a 108-acre state park located in the Village of Lewiston in Niagara County, New York. The park, which is officially named after former New York State Senator Earl Brydges, is generally referred to as Artpark. The park overlooks the Niagara Gorge

This type of an open air community celebrations is something that we see requested often during COVID pandemic. The concert was part of Music in the Woods - ArtPark’s series of free, eclectic and intimate Sunday performances set outdoors in Artpark’s scenic Lower Park Emerald Grove area, overlooking the Niagara River. While all of ArtPark’s large scale concerts have been cancelled, they kept Music in the Woods going during this summer over the pandemic period (and in accordance with state and federal safety guidelines). These social distanced concerts present a slate of both major national and local talent in concerts ranging from jazz to baroque and new music.

Back by popular demand after our Artpark performance in 2018 and Jazz Buffalo’s presentation in 2019 our swing back was back in the area as local fans adored our signature vintage-inspired sound, foot–stomping groove and exciting stage presence. The concert was so in-demand, that the event was fully sold out within a few hours of having been announced. Due to overwhelming demand from our many fans in Western New York, we have added a second performance at no additional cost to Artpark - and played two “at capacity” shows for our thrilled fans! People really missed live music - and we were so happy to see old friends and meet (albeit socially distantly!) new ones!

This was a truly beautiful event - the sun was setting over Niagara river, and we could see (and hear!) Canada shore from the stage! The woods of ArtPark created a magical backdrop to the music - and tree-tops adorned the performance and sitting area - enhancing the magic of the setting and making the event that much more special.
