Birdland NYC Valentine's Day Show with Svetlana's Big Band

Svetlana had the honor of performing at Birdland NYC, which has been one of the world’s most iconic jazz club, since its founding in 1949. Its name was inspired by Charlie Parker, a bebop saxophonist, known as “Bird.”

For this special Valentine’s Day Concert, Svetlana jazzed up several romantic tunes with the help of a swinging 16-piece big band under the direction of Emily Frederickson, a trombonist who has worked with many jazz greats including Dee Dee Bridgewater.

Svetlana’s repertoire for this show included familiar jazz standards including Duke Ellington’s “Do Nothing Till You Hear from Me,” as well as many songs from her acclaimed Night At the Movies album retooled for a big band flare.
