Jazz Birthday Celebration at the Upscale Exclusive Pebble Bar in the Rockefeller Center

We were delighted to be invited to be part of a birthday celebration of old friends and clients at a classy upscale Pebble Bar an upscale exclusive New York bar and event space in the Rockefeller Center

We met this couple first when we were asked to perform at their wedding at the private exclusive Polo Bar. We have become friends and played at several of their events since then!

Pebble Bar is a gorgeous intimate space in the heart of NYC. Located on floors 2, 3, and 4 of a legendary townhouse at Rockefeller Center. Formerly a watering hole named Hurley’s (1892-2000), our space has a storied history. Hurley’s was long known for famed regulars like Johnny Carson, who had a personal back entrance, novelist Jack Kerouac, whose writing on Hurley’s inspired the Pebble Bar name, David Letterman, who regularly filmed on-air on the third floor, and decades of Saturday Night Live cast and staff, who dubbed the space “Studio 1-H.”

Pebble Bar, launched in Hurley’s spirit, opened in February 2022 from partners, friends and longtime New Yorkers Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte & Matthew Charles — whose award-winning hospitality projects include The Smile, The Georgia Room, Bar Calico, The Jane Ballroom, Ray’s, Jac’s on Bond and Black Seed Bagels — and John and Christine Gachot of AD100 design firm Gachot Studios, whose projects include Glossier’s Soho flagship boutique, Marc Jacobs’ West Village townhouse, and Detroit’s Shinola Hotel.

Accessible only by private elevator to the top floor of the Pebble Bar townhouse is Johnny's, where the event too place , is dedicated private events space and the crown jewel of Pebble Bar. Whether a daytime meeting, post-work cocktail reception, or late night afterparty, Johnny is a classy go-to guy for all kinds of celebrations

The event space is like an intimate living room - was decorated by over 50 gold balloons with jeweled ties (designed by Laronda Butler) which added to the playful celebratory atmosphere appropriate for a birthday party! The space also had a well tuned piano allowing the band look and feel (and sound) as if the music was more impromptu part of the evening. Couple’s friend, an incredible photographer Andrew Day captured the evening in this special style of candid and portrait photography.

The cake was a cute and delightful part of the evening as it was made to resemble couple’s puppy!

We welcome private event inquiries for events from spaces that adhere to NYS Covid safety guidelines!
